PARTEQ Community Small Business Investment Funds:
CMDF Working Ventures
Queen's Scientific Breakthrough Fund:
In 1999 PARTEQ established the Working Ventures CMDF
Queen's Scientific Breakthrough Fund. The $7 million
fund, managed by PARTEQ, invests in enterprises formed
by Queen's researchers looking to protect, commercialize
and market research discoveries.

Ventures Fund Inc:
In 2001 PARTEQ Innovations established the PARTEQ Internet
Ventures Fund. The $2.5 million fund focuses on new
Internet and e-commerce companies.

Brighter Future Community Small Business Investment
Funds (I) and (II) Inc.:
In 2003 PARTEQ sponsored, with seven additional Ontario
universities, the VentureLink Brighter Future Community
Small Business Investment Funds (I) and (II) Inc. The
$7.2 m fund focuses on emerging technologies in energy
and the environment.

Diversified Balanced Community Small Business Investment
Funds (I) and (II) Inc.:
In 2003 PARTEQ
sponsored, with seven additional Ontario universities,
the VentureLink Diversified Balanced Community Small
Business Investment Funds (I) and (II) Inc. The $8.6
m fund focuses on innovative technologies.
CMDF
Working Ventures Queen's Scientific Breakthrough Fund:
One of the first such funds to be launched under the
Province of Ontario's Community Small Business Investment
Fund (CSBIF) Program, the Working Ventures CMDF Queen's
Scientific Breakthrough Fund is a partnership between
Queen's and the Working Ventures Canadian Fund. It provides
a local source of capital to small, high-growth businesses
and acts as a stimulus for investment partnerships between
investment pools, universities and their local communities.
The fund makes initial investments of up to $250,000
and follow-on investments of up to a total of $1.4 million
in companies with less than $1 million in assets. While
the fund will focus on investing in biotechnology and
health and life sciences enterprises, researchers from
other technology fields could also qualify.
PARTEQ Innovations is the
manager of the $7 million Working Ventures CMDF Queen's
Scientific Breakthrough Fund, and is responsible for
identifying, evaluating and qualifying investment applications
for presentation to the Fund's Board of Directors.
Initial capitalization of the fund consists of $5 million
from Working Ventures Canadian Fund, Canada's largest
national venture capital fund, and $2 million from the
Canadian Medical Discoveries Fund, the largest venture
investor in Canada's life sciences sector.

PARTEQ
Internet Ventures Fund Inc.:
The PARTEQ Internet Ventures Fund is a Community Small
Business Investment Fund focused on emerging internet
and e-commerce enterprises. The fund is managed by New
Millennium Venture Partners Inc. The New Millennium
Internet Ventures Fund is the only labour-sponsored
venture investment fund focused solely on investing
in Canada's emerging e-commerce and Internet enterprises.
Eligible internet or e-commerce businesses must have
an affiliation with Queen's, such as Queen's alumni,
students, staff or faculty. The fund will make initial
investments of up to $250,000 and follow-on investments
of up to a total of $750,000 in companies with less
than $1 million in assets.

Brighter Future Community Small Business Investment
Funds (I) and (II) Inc.:
The VentureLink Brighter Future Community Small Business
Investment Funds (I) and (II) Inc. is a $7.2 million
fund sponsored by Queen's University's PARTEQ Innovations
and the following Ontario universities, in partnership
with Skylon Capital Corp.:
Laurentian University
McMaster University
University of Guelph
University of Ottawa
University of Toronto
University of Waterloo
University of Western Ontario
The funds will be used to fund innovative technologies
in the infrastructure and "essential services"
industries, such as energy, water and waste management.
Eligible enterprises include those being developed
by researchers at the sponsoring universities, as well
as by Ontario-based graduates of any of the sponsoring
institutions. Enterprises with assets of less than $1
million are eligible for investments of up to $720,000
from each of the two funds, for a maximum total investment
per company of $1.4 million.

for a maximum total investment per company of $1.72
million.
