Commercial Management Fellow to focus on promising life
science technologies at Queen’s, KGH

KINGSTON, ON -- PARTEQ Innovations, the technology transfer
arm of Queen’s University, is pleased to announce
the appointment of Ms. Eileen Dent as a Fellow, Commercialization
Management, effective June 6. The one-year position
is partially funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health
Research (CIHR) and is focused on the commercialization
of new technologies arising from research in the life
sciences.
Ms. Dent brings more than 10 years of experience in
research, development and commercialization of technologies
for government and the private sector. She has worked
with Biostar Inc., a spinoff company of the University
of Saskatchewan’s Vaccine and Infectious Diseases
Organization, and Fisher Scientific, and provided research
and commercial development expertise to the University
of Saskatchewan and the National Research Council. She
also founded her own business, Science Synergies Consulting.
She is a graduate of Carleton University (BSc), Queen’s
University (MSc) and the University of Saskatchewan
(MBA).
Reporting to Anne Vivian-Scott, Director of Commercial
Development, Ms. Dent will identify, evaluate and manage
new intellectual property generated by research in life
sciences at Queen’s University and/or Kingston
General Hospital.

a broad range of experience along the innovation spectrum,”
says Ms. Vivian-Scott. “Ms. Dent’s background
in both research and early stage technology development
makes her ideally suited to this position.”
The Commercialization Management Grants Program was
established to enhance professional development of intellectual
property managers, and to assist universities and hospitals
in better managing intellectual property arising from
health research.
