GB Therapeutics obtains full-time CEO

KINGSTON, ON -- John Molloy, Chairman of the Board of GB Therapeutics and President & CEO of PARTEQ Innovations, is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Giovinazzo as full-time President & CEO of GB Therapeutics.

Mr. Giovinazzo comes to GB Therapeutics from Prescient NeuroPharma Inc. (TSX-V:PRE), where he was President & CEO from 1998-2002. While there he led the merger of Neurotrophic Bioscience Inc. (NTB) and IGT Pharma Inc. to create Prescient. He oversaw the identification of the company's first clinical candidate and completed the licensing of a Phase II chemotherapeutic for US$18.75 million in milestone payments.

"Mr. Giovinazzo's agreement to join GB Therapeutics and his input into its clinical direction helped catalyze the current investor commitment to GB Therapeutics," says Mr. Molloy. "With 24 years of experience in investment and biopharmaceutical management he brings strong leadership in guiding the company through this crucial phase of its evolution."

Prior to his appointment at NTB, Mr. Giovinazzo was Executive Vice-President of Nova Molecular Inc., a pioneer in the pharmacogenomics of central nervous system (CNS) diseases. Previously he was President of the Neuroscience Partners Fund and a Vice- President and Partner at MDS Capital Corp. Mr. Giovinazzo serves as Chairman of Dynamic BioSciences, and also is a Director of the Board for the Toronto Biotechnology Initiative.

Mr. Molloy also wishes to thank Mr. Ian Anderson for his vital contribution over the last year as interim CEO.
